Levi Emenike Nwonye, Esq.
Levi Emenike Nwonye is a litigation and dispute resolution practitioner with over 12 years' experience in legal practice, with substantial exposure to civil and commercial litigation, appellate practice and general dispute resolution.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2013, following his legal education at Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State, where he obtained his LL.B. degree between 2007 and 2012. His professional career has been principally litigation-oriented, taking him through private practice, institutional legal service and the appellate court system.
Mr. Nwonye commenced his professional career with Obla & Co., where he undertook a Chamber Attachment in 2012. In 2013, during his mandatory National Youth Service Corps programme, he was posted to the Litigation Department of the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division. This experience provided an early and valuable exposure to appellate procedure, judicial processes and the practical workings of the appellate court.
In 2014, he served as a Legal Officer at the Nigeria Army Headquarters, RSM Office, where he gained experience in institutional legal practice and the provision of legal support within a structured public-sector environment.
From 2015 to 2024, Mr. Nwonye practised with V.C. Ottaokpukpu & Associates as an Associate/Counsel. During this period, he developed extensive experience in litigation and advocacy, handling matters across various areas of civil and commercial dispute resolution and representing clients in proceedings before Nigerian courts.
Since 2025, he has been with Lex Firma LP, where he continues to focus principally on litigation, dispute resolution and advocacy. His practice involves the preparation and conduct of contentious matters, legal research, drafting of pleadings and other court processes, interlocutory applications, and representation of clients in judicial proceedings.
With a career spanning more than a decade at the Nigerian Bar, Mr. Nwonye brings to Lex Firma LP a combination of courtroom experience, appellate exposure, institutional legal practice and practical litigation knowledge. His approach to contentious matters is grounded in careful preparation, close attention to procedural and evidential issues, and a clear understanding of the commercial and practical interests underlying a dispute.
He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and is committed to the effective and strategic resolution of disputes through litigation, negotiation and other appropriate mechanisms of dispute resolution.
